The purpose of the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) on Mini Cooper Tire Pressure Reset is to alert you when tire pressure is too low and could to create unsafe driving conditions.
If the light is illuminated, it means your tires could be underinflated, which can lead to undue tire wear and possible tire failure. It’s important to understand the importance of proper tire inflation, and how TPMS can help you maintain your tires.
If the tyre pressure light comes on particularity when it’s cold, this is because air pressure is lower when cold and once the tyre has warmed, the light should go out.
NOTE. To stop the warning light coming on, add a little air to the tyres, being careful not to over-inflate.
The tyre pressure warning light illuminates on the Mini Cooper often due to tyre pressure falling 25% or more below the threshold allowance in one or more tyres.
Before resetting the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), check pressure in all tyres including the spare if you have one.
